Police Roleplay Community/Emergency Response: Liberty County (2024)

Emergency Response: Liberty County (abbreviated as ER:LC) is a city roleplay experience by Police Roleplay Community. The game is inspired by the roleplay experiences of ro-states and is set in an open-world rendition of Liberty County, a fictional county in the United States. Players can roleplay or complete tasks as a civilian, criminal, police officer, sheriff's deputy, firefighter, paramedic, or road worker. The game was first released in December 2018. Release[]

The game was first released on November 3, 2018, with 2 departments: police and sheriff. Shortly after its launch, the game received several bug fixes and improvements.

First Milestone[]

A month after its release, on December 3, 2018, ER:LC achieved their first milestone of 1,000 game sales and 100 concurrent players. Additionally, the game appeared on the front page of Games on Roblox.

Early Development[]

During its first several months of its release, ER:LC received crucial game updates which lasted healthily to this day. Some of these updates included a combat system, cell phone, handcuff improvements, ATM Robbery, and many other improvements.

Fire Department Update[]

On December 29, 2018, a new Fire Department team was added. The initial release brought simple vehicles and gears to the team, as well as automatically generated fires.

2019[]

During early to mid 2019, the game became filled with major updates that brought huge improvements in gameplay. Some of these features included XP on all teams, new vehicles, traffic cameras, Gamepasses, new items, graphic updates, new systems, private servers, and countless amounts of balancing features, bug fixes, and small improvements.

Milestone[]

In 2019, the game reached huge milestones that were thought to be impossible before. As ER:LC progressed, the game continued to receive millions of visits. Many events were held to celebrate the game's success.

DOT Update[]

Roughly a year after the fire department update, on December 21, 2019, a new Department of Transportation team was brought into the game. Players in this team are able to repair blown tires and tow other vehicles.

2020[]

2020 brought a decent amount of updates. The game was not updated as frequently as in the past year, but had a few major updates.

Small Updates[]

Several small but significant updates were pushed out throughout the year. Some of these updates include new vehicles, items, tasks, accessible trunks, mechanics, and events.

Major Updates[]

Major updates were pushed out throughout the year, and made a huge impact on the game.

  • House Robbery Update (February 1): Vacant houses around the map can be robbed with a new item.
  • Stores & Armory Update (May 19): Civilian weapons and items are now purchasable through physical stores. Additionally, law enforcement weapons became free of charge, but limited in number.
  • Law Enforcement Vehicle Update (July 1): Brand new and updated law enforcement vehicles, as well as more customization are added.
  • Tablet Update (September 4): ER:LC is compatible with tablets (not phones).
  • Map Expansion Update (October 2): The first ever map expansion was added with new landmarks, slopes, and overall 40% size increase.
  • Fire Truck Update (November 19): Brand new FD vehicles are available, with brand new liveries and lighting.
  • Winter Update (December 17): The map was temporarily winter themed, and improved lighting system was added.

2021[]

Major Updates[]

Similar to the previous year, major updates were released.

  • Air Support Update (April 11): Players in law enforcement teams are able to request air support to track a suspect's location.
  • Summer Update (June 25): Possibly thought to be the largest update ever in ER:LC, some major changes include civilian jobs, building improvements, new civilian weapons, and free game access to all users.

2022[]

Many major updates this year, new buildings and vehicles and items.

  • New Bank
  • New melee weapons
  • New refurbished housing

Map[]

The game takes place in a fictional county named Liberty County. The map consists of four major areas: the western urban and suburban area of River City, the eastern highway commuter town of Springfield, and the rural countryside of the unincorporated county. Liberty County is set in the United States, though it is unclear which U.S. state it is set in nor which region of the country it is located in, though geographic details and emergency services trends (such as the use of red and blue lights) suggest it is located in either the East Coast or Midwest.

Teams[]

Currently, there are seven teams in the game, though only five are directly selectable in the game's menu:

  • Civilian
    • Criminal
    • Prisoner
  • River City Police Department
  • Liberty County Sheriff's Office
  • River City Fire & Rescue
  • Liberty County Department of Transportation

Civilian[]

The default team for all players. Civilians are able to freely roam around the map while obeying the law. They can also join any of the 10 civilian jobs to complete work tasks and earn higher pay for their work.

Criminal[]

Once a Civilian commits a crime, they will become a Criminal, meaning law enforcement can arrest them. Criminals have a wanted level of between one and five stars, which determine both how long they will be Criminals, how long they will be imprisoned as a Prisoner, and how many experience points law enforcement players receive upon arresting them.

Prisoner[]

Criminals who are arrested become Prisoners. This status clears after a short period of time, which varies based on their wanted level as a Criminal. Prisoners spawn in jail and cannot leave until their sentence period ends or they pay bail, at which point they will respawn as a Civilian.

Police[]

The River City Police Department is responsible for patrolling the western urban and suburban areas of the map. Police players enforce the law by arresting or ticketing wanted players, and have access to police gear, uniforms, and police vehicles.

Sheriff[]

The Liberty County Sheriff's Office is responsible for patrolling the eastern rural areas of the map. Sheriff players enforce the law by arresting or ticketing wanted players, and have access to police gear, uniforms, and police vehicles.

Fire & Rescue[]

River City Fire & Rescue is responsible for responding to fires and medical emergencies across the map. Fire & Rescue players have access to firefighting and medical tools, uniforms, and specialized firefighting and medical vehicles.

Department of Transportation[]

The Liberty County Department of Transportation is responsible for maintaining roads and street furniture around the map. Department of Transportation players have access to road work tools, uniforms, and utility vehicles.

In-Game Currency[]

ER:LC features in-game currency that allows players to buy vehicles, weapons, and items. This currency can be earned in several ways.

Paychecks[]

Paychecks are an in-game feature which gives players anywhere between $300 and $1,250 every few minutes. Paychecks can be earned on all teams except Prisoner, and only require that the player be active in the server to receive payment.

Robberies[]

Civilians and Criminals are able to commit crimes for money, typically between $1,000 and $5,000. Each successful robbery requires the player to stay in the game for 4 minutes without dying, being arrested, or switching teams.

  • ATM Robbery
  • House Robbery
  • Jewelry Store Robbery
  • Bank Robbery

Robux Purchase[]

In-game currency can be purchased with Robux. This can be done via the in-game menu or by interacting with an ATM. Players are able to buy up to $2,000,000 in-game currency per purchase. The purchase cannot be made in a private server.

Experience Points (XP)[]

Experience points are points able to be earned in any department team. Gaining XP allows players to progress through levels (represented as ranks) to unlock vehicles, equipment, and abilities. Players must earn XP separately in each department except Police and Sheriff, which share XP.

Gameplay[]

Just like many other city games in Roblox, Emergency Response: Liberty County gives the freedom for players to perform any roleplay and explore the map. Some objectives can be achieved to earn cash and XP, which can enhance the experience by allowing the purchase of better performing vehicles, weapons, and unlocking certain items.

Tasks[]

Tasks can be achieved in all teams, which will reward players if done. These vary in each teams.

Civilian[]

Civilians are expected to obey the law and perform various actions around the county. They will be rewarded paychecks for playing the game every few minutes. While it is expected, civilians can commit various crimes to earn more money, but with more risk.

Law Enforcement[]

The police and sheriff are to serve and protect the community by arresting criminals, responding to emergency calls, and citing traffic law violators.

Fire & Rescue[]

Fire & Rescue must serve the county by putting out fires, responding to fire and medical calls, and reviving and treating injured civilians.

Department of Transportation[]

DOT are responsible for servicing vehicles and traffic by impounding abandoned vehicles, fixing flat tires, refueling vehicles, and repairing broken traffic lights.

Roleplay[]

The game allows players roleplay almost anything in the county. Players can also join roleplay jobs, where they can be a postal worker, clerk, trucker, farmer, hospital worker, or news reporter. The limitless opportunities allow all players in each teams to have a good experience. For even better roleplay experience, private servers (which are integrated in game) are recommended.

Criticism[]

Emergency Response Liberty County was criticized for being in Metaverse Champions despite being a paid game at the time. It has also been criticized for being poorly balanced. Also, many players believe that new vehicles cost way to much for what they are. Since it takes hours to grind just for $100k, it is extremely unbalanced and bad for people who don't have a lot of time on their hands.
