Chef Clay Conley's acclaimed Palm Beach restaurant Buccan is among South Florida's highly anticipated openings as the restaurant expands to Miami.
MAS AJP, a local real estate investment and development firm, and Day Pitney, a local law firm, announced Buccan will open at 100 Miracle Milein Coral Gables. The property Buccan has leased is owned by MAS AJP, and it’s currently under construction.

Both businesses said the James Beard-nominated restaurant is expected to open a 10,000-square-foot location on the ground floor of 100 Miracle Milein early 2025.
Day Pitney Attorney Daniel Diaz Leyva handled the transaction on behalf of MAS AJP.
“In recent years, we've witnessed successful out-of-market big brands venture into Miami, establishing themselves in areas like downtown Miami, Wynwood, and South Beach,” Diaz Leyva said. “Now, these brands are recognizing that many new businesses and residents from the Northeast and California are choosing Coral Gables as their new home.”
He continued, “High-end restaurants are just following their clientele to these new destinations, and Buccan is paving the way, enhancing the fine dining experience on Miracle Mile. This marks a significant punctuation point for the renaissance of Miracle Mile.”
From fitness concepts to restaurants and art exhibits, here are eight more openings that have taken place or have been announced in Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach County.

Sky Zone

Sky Zone will open its 17th Florida location in Boynton Beach on May 4. The 32,000-square-foot trampoline park is located within the Catalina Shoppes Shopping Center at 729 N. Congress Ave. It’s equipped with elaborate courses, springy air courts, zip lines and a toddler zone.

Amped Fitness unveiled its first-ever signature location on April 29 in West Palm Beach. Located at 2771 S. Dixie Highway, the upscale gym offers over 35,000 square feet of workout space, including pickleball courts, cardio and strength equipment, and spin and exercise rooms. It also includes an executive lounge, espresso bar, childcare space and full-service spa. Wellness amenities include saunas, cold plunges and salt caves. The gym features a design inspired by Addison Mizner, South Florida’s famous 20th-century architect.

Hen and The Hog, a brunch restaurant that serves Southern comfort food, opened a new location in Boca Raton. The Pompano Beach-based concept hosted a grand opening event for its latest restaurant on May 2. It’s located at 2151 N. Federal Highway. While the restaurant has expanded its menu to offer dinner service, popular dishes at Hen and The Hog include chicken and waffles with strawberry butter and banana cream pie pancakes.

Wiseguy Pizza

Thompson Restaurants, a family-owned hospitality firm from Reston, Virginia, has opened a Wiseguy Pizza in Fort Lauderdale. The New York-style pizzeria will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony on May 7 at its Las Olas outpost, which is in Bank of America Plaza at 401 E. Las Olas Blvd., Suite 170.
Sunset Hammock

Glavovic Studio, a Fort Lauderdale-based architecture firm, will host a grand opening event for a new public art installation in Tamarac called “Sunset Hammock” on May 8. The nature-inspired installation was created by Margi Glavovic Nothard, founder and design director of Glavovic Studio. It’s located in Sunset Point Park at 11000 W. McNab Road.
Velvet Taco

Velvet Tacowill finally open its Wynwood locationon May 27, according to the restaurant’s business tab on Google Maps. The Dallas-based restaurant will make its Miami debut at 2800 N.W. Second Ave. The acclaimed taco brand will offer multicultural menu items, including spicy chicken tikka, Korean fried rice, red curry coconut queso and elote guacamole.

STK, The Salty Donut and Chip City at Esplanade at Aventura

Esplanade at Aventura will welcome three restaurant concepts over the summer. STK, an Atlanta-based steakhouse will open its second location at the Miami shopping center along with The Salty Donut, a Miami-based donut chain, and Chip City, a New York-based cookie chain. Esplanade at Aventura will be The Salty’s sixth South Florida location and Chip City’s second.
