Reba C. Orr

Reba C. Orr, 96, of Hazel, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, May 15, 2024, at her home.

She was born July 5, 1927, in Newcomb, Tennessee, to William B. Cordell and Laura (Hicks) Cordell.

She worked as a factory worker for Federal-Mogul and was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Noble L. Orr; two sisters, Flosie Singleton and Athene Stoder; and two brothers, Cecil Cordell and Truman Cordell.

Mrs. Orr is survived by one daughter, Jacklyn Smith and husband Jason of Hazel; one son, Mance Singleton and wife Maxine of Roseville, Michigan; two sisters, Lola Douglas and husband Mitt of Belleville, Michigan, and Wanda Cordell of Hazel; five grandchildren, Roger Singleton and wife Tammy of Grand Rapids, Michigan, Isaiah Smith, Eli Smith, Seth Smith and Silas Smith, all of Hazel; two great-grandchildren, Kaela Milbury and husband Mike and Chase Singleton, all of Caledonia, Michigan; and two great-great-grandchildren, Mara and Morgan Milbury, both of Caledonia.

The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 21, 2024, at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home & Cremation Services with Jordan Roach and Mike Lineberry officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Monday, May 20, 2024, at the funeral home.

Richard A. Scott

Richard A. Scott, 67, of Murray, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, May 14, 2024, at the Murray-Calloway County Hospital in Murray.

He was born Sept. 18, 1956, in Calloway County, Kentucky, to Paul Eugene Scott and Patricia Ann (Wilson) Scott.

He retired from General Tire and later from MFL (formerly FLW Outdoors). He was a member of Grace Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Brenda Scott.

Mr. Scott is survived by one daughter, Heather Patterson and husband Bobby of Lawrenceville, Georgia; two sons, Troy McClure and

Paul Scott and wife Heather, all of Murray; one sister, Laura Stock of Highland, Illinois; one brother, Bryan Scott and wife Kim of

Dexter; and three grandchildren, Zenley McClure, Ethan Scott and Alyssa Verner.

A graveside service will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, May 19, 2024, at the Murray City Cemetery with Jared Martin officiating.

Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. Sunday, May 19, 2024, at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home & Cremation Services.

Harold L. Pittman

Harold L. Pittman, 60, of Murray, Kentucky, passed away Friday, May 10, 2024, at the Murray-Calloway County Hospital.

He was born Nov. 2, 1963, in Murray.

He was employed at Saputo in Murray before becoming ill and had served as a former Mayor of the City of Hazel, Kentucky.

He was preceded in death by his father, John Edward Pittman; his grandmother, Pauline Pittman; his grandfather, John Ed Pittman; and one brother, Timothy A. Pittman.

Mr. Pittman is survived by his wife, Valerie (Hendon) Pittman of Murray, whom he married Aug. 2, 1997, in Hazel; his mother, Katherine Kendall of Hazel; one daughter, Bailey Boyd of New York; two sons, Mario Allen of Memphis, Tennessee and Cameron Pittman and wife Mary Lou of Danville; and two sisters, Sandra Kay Gray and husband Curtis of Murray and Judy Kendall of Hazel.

A memorial visitation will be from 2-5 p.m. Saturday, May 18, 2024, at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
