Obituary for Brenda Sue Shelton Creasy
Brenda Sue Shelton Creasy, 77, of Springfield, passed from this life on Thursday January 27, 2022, at TriStar NorthCrest Medical Center. Her remains were cremated and will be spread on a warm sunny day at the farm where she grew up. There will be a time of visitation with the family on Thursday February 10th from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Robertson County Funeral Home.
Brenda was born June 1, 1944, in Springfield, TN. She graduated from Springfield High School and was retired from the former Flowers by Sandra in Greenbrier. Our mom was an animal lover and would take any furry animal given to her. She was preceded in death by her parents: Martin Crockett and Hattie Pauline Roberts Shelton and by her son: Jeffery Mark Creasy.
Brenda is survived by her son: Scott Creasy of Springfield, by her daughters: Darla Gaines of Hendersonville and Lori Creasy of Nashville, by her grandchildren: Jordan (Allysa) Gaines of Humble, TX and Kara Gaines of Hendersonville, by her great grandchildren: Hadley Brannon and Everett Gaines, by her brother and sister-in-law: Joe and Martha Sue Shelton of Greenbrier, by her longtime companion: Wendell Choate, by her best friend: Sandra Harris Long, and by her dogs: Charlie and Lucy. Brenda will be missed by many.

Obituary for Jerry Marvin Reeves
Jerry Marvin Reeves, age 83 of Springfield, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 5, 2022 in Springfield surrounded by his family. He was born November 17, 1938 in Springfield to the late William Arthur “PopGun” and Sadie Parrish Reeves. He professed a strong faith in Jesus Christ around the age of 12 and was a member of Springfield Baptist Church. He graduated from Springfield High School in 1957 and went on to earn a Bachelor’s Degree from Tennessee Tech in business. He served in the Air National Guard. He was a highly awarded salesman for Atlantic Richfield (Sinclair) Oil, was owner of Reeves Bi-Rite, and a rural mail carrier for many years.
Mr. Reeves was loved by all who knew him, bringing joy to everyone. His bass voice was a delight to all who heard him sing. He enjoyed singing old gospel hymns and was in various church choirs. He loved to fish for stripers and deep sea fish. He was a member of Percy Priest Striper Club. He also loved to teach children in Sunday School and share his faith with others. He was a Mason.
Mr. Jerry was completely devoted to his family. He was a loving son who took care of his parents. He was the best Dad and “Der-Derry” in the world. He was a caring spouse who lovingly cared for his wife. He was a friend to all who knew him and could make anyone laugh.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Sandra Hendley Reeves; a step-son, Tim Goostree; and favorite dog, Scottie.
He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Iva and Chris Biggs of Springfield; step-son, Todd Goostree of Adairville, KY; grandchildren, Sadie, Josh, Laura Jayne, David, and Jacob Biggs; mother of Iva, Joyce Ann Reeves; step grandchildren, Alicyn, Greg, and Ginger Goostree; step great grandchildren, Jade, Bryce, and Broch Osterhoff and Gavin Murray.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday, February 11, 2022 at 2:00 PM in the Oakhurst Chapel of Robertson County Funeral Home with Brother Martin Babb officiating. Burial will follow in Springfield Memorial Gardens with Jimmy Thies, Jeff Randolph, Jeff Leftrick, Don Osborne, Jim Driver, Jason Hendley and Mike Blackburn serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Sergeant Major Frankie Pulley (retired) and Rachel Cothron.. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday from 4 until 7 PM and Friday from 12 noon until the hour of service.
The family extends a special thanks to Mrs. Delinda Bell for all her help and support that enabled Iva and Chris to care for him the last several months and to NHC who made the last 2 days such a peaceful transition.

Obituary for Robert Jerry “Bobby Joe” Williams
Robert Jerry “Bobby Joe” Williams, age 80 of Springfield, TN, passed from this life Thursday, February 3, 2022, at NorthCrest Medical Center. Memorial services will be conducted at 4 pm on Monday February 14, 2022, at the Adairville Baptist Church in Adairville, Kentucky with Pastor Phillip Alexander officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 pm until 4 pm on Monday at the church.
Mr. Williams was born April 19, 1941, in Washington Park, IL to the late Joseph Emanual and Evelyn Ramsey Williams. He was a former member of Highland Southern Baptist Church in Highland, IL and Bethel Baptist Church in Troy, IL. He was a 1961 graduate of East St. Louis, IL High School and spent his summers growing up in Adairville, KY working in the tobacco fields. He married his wife of 52 years, Nancy Boyles Williams on August 23, 1964, at Adairville Baptist Church. After marriage, Robert and Nancy lived in Russellville, KY and he worked at Red Kap. The family moved to East St. Louis, IL in 1967, Marine, IL in 1971, and then to Highland, IL in 1975. Robert lived in Highland until 2017 when he moved to Springfield, TN after the death of his wife in 2016. During his time in Illinois, he worked for Terminal Railroad and then Eaton B-Line where he was a metal cutter. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He also enjoyed taking hikes and working puzzles.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Boyles Williams; brother, Ronald Lee Williams; and sister, Donna Sue Dyal.
Mr. Robert is survived by his daughters, Karen M. (David) McKennedy of Springfield, TN and Susan (David) Cooper of Highland, IL; brother, Herbert (Kathy) Gibbs of St. Charles, MO; grandchildren, Olivia Osborn, Timothy (Deanna) Osborn, Abigayle (Clemens) Schollmeyer, and Bradley Cooper; step-grandchildren, Katheryn (Nicholas) Martin and David McKennedy, III; great grandchildren, Sylas Schollmeyer, Leif Osborn, Nancy Bea Osborn, Laythan Schollmeyer, Agatha Martin, and 2 on the way; brothers-in-law, Jeff (Penny) Edwards and Pat Boyles; sisters-in-law, Janice Edwards; numerous nieces and nephews; his beloved dog, Dakota; and his beloved grand dogs, Hudson and Bear.

Margaret Dunavin, age 84 of Greenbrier passed away Sunday, February 6, 2022 at NHC Hendersonville. She was born June 16, 1937 in Portland, TN to the late JB and Bertha McDougal Collins. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Claude Dunavin; son, Wayne Dunavin; sisters, Evelyn Dorris, Juanita Adco*ck and Catherine Webb and Marie Paris.
She was a retired Bookkeeper with United Methodist Publishing House and was a 50 year plus member of Ebenezer Baptist Church.
She loved her family very much and spending time with them were most important to her. She enjoyed her time attending church, traveling and reading.
She is survived by children, Teri (Terry) Baird of Springfield, Jeff Dunavin of Lewisburg, TN; brother, Theodore Collins of Greenbrier; sister, Barbara McLean of Greenbrier; 7 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

Earl “Wayne” Pritchett, age 64 of Ashland City, Tennessee, died Saturday, February 5, 2022 at NorthCrest Medical Center in Springfield.
A Celebration of Life gathering will be held at Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Pleasant View on Thursday, February 10th between 5:00-8:00PM. There will not be a service following the visitation.
Mr. Pritchett was born on November 20, 1957 in Nashville, Tennessee to the late Harold & Earline McClure Pritchett. He has worked as a courier for 1220 Exhibits in Nashville for over 30 years. He enjoyed listening to all kinds of music, loved to fish, and mow his yard, for it was peaceful to him. He loved his family, especially his grandchildren and was a lover of life and nature.
Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Valerie Pritchett; son, Patrick Pritchett and significant other, Jenna Spears; daughter, Edna “Jeannie” Perry and significant other, Andy Smith; brothers, Jay (Carolyn) Pritchett, Terry (Josie) Pritchett; step-brother, Butch (Sandy) Tinnin; sister, Rose Marie Perry; step-sisters, Sherry (Pat) Johnson and Penny (Timmy) Plumlee; step-mother, Wilma Pritchett; grandchildren, Emerson Perry, Wilson Escue, Harper Rayne Pritchett, Rachel Smith, and Aiden Smith; and many loving nieces and nephews.

Obituary for Ruby Mai Larmon
Ruby Mai Larmon, age 89, of Pontiac, Michigan, formerly of Springfield, Tennessee, passed away on Friday, February 4th, 2022, after a brief illness. Funeral services will be conducted at 2pm Saturday, February 12, 2022 in the chapel of Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Springfield, TN. Burial will follow in the Springfield Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 3-8pm Friday, February 11, 2022 and again from 1pm until service time on Saturday at the funeral home.
Ruby was born in Cheatham County, Tennessee on April 29, 1932, to Homer Felts Sr and Nellie Mae Felts and was the 3rd of 6 children. She grew up in Springfield, Tennessee, where she met Walter Larmon Jr and married him on Dec 8th, 1951. Their marriage produced 6 children. In October 1964, the family moved to Pontiac, Michigan where she resided until her death.
Ruby was a devoted mother and Granny whose life revolved around her children and grandchildren. She was also a loving sister, aunt, and cousin and enjoyed staying in touch with them to find out what was going on ‘down home’ as she always referred to Springfield. She worked at a local corner store and a dry cleaners for many years where she became known to many who loved to spend a little extra time visiting with her when they came in because of her friendly smile, welcoming presence, and gift for gab. Ruby truly never met a stranger. She was a very strong woman who weathered many storms and always persevered. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Ruby is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Walter, her brothers, Harold Felts, Ronald Felts, and her sisters, Frances Moon and Margie Sawyers.
She is survived by her children, Sherry Cosby (Otis), Gerry Larmon, Jeffrey Larmon (Linda), Terry Larmon (Katrina), Sheila Haag (Butch), and Anthony Scott Larmon. She is also survived by her brother, Homer Felts Jr., 12 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Interment will follow in the Springfield Memorial Gardens with Charles “Meredith” Shannon Sr., Charlie Shannon, Jim Sprouse, Ken Mathias, John Traughber, and Allen Shannon serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 9, 2022, from 12:00 P.M. until hour of service at 2:00 P.M. at the Springfield First United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Traughber was born on June 18, 1926, to the late James Vincent Sr. and Mildred McMurry Sprouse, she was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, a dedicated homemaker, supporter of Tennessee State Parks, lover of road trips, collected antiques and was an avid supporter of the Springfield First United Methodist Church. “Miss Jeanne” was a lifelong resident of Springfield. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Lloyd Fyke Traughber, son, Robert Allen Shannon, Jr., stepson, Henry Mark Traughber, and stepdaughter, Diane Elaine Highsmith.
Jeanne Sprouse Traughber is survived by son and daughter-in law, Charles Meredith Sr. and Susan Shannon of Springfield, stepson, John Raymond Traughber of Springfield, brother, James Vincent Jr. and Velma Sprouse, of El Paso, TX, sisters, Cynthea Sprouse Sexton of Cambridge, MA, Mildred “Cissie” Sprouse and Ken Mathias of Cullman, AL, grandchildren, Robert Allen III and Rena Shannon, Jennifer Shannon, Charlie and Shanda Shannon, Rachel Rhea Shannon, and great grandchildren, Caitlin Shannon, Ali Shannon, Rebecca Shannon, Philip Shannon, Olivia Shannon, and Lauren Shannon.

Ms. Cynthia was born on April 17, 1950, in Madison. She was retired from NorthCrest Medical Center where she had several titles, the last being as ER Tech. She loved spending time with her grandson, hanging out with her friends at Holiday House, crafting, and sewing. She was known to be stubborn but funny and she always greeted you with a smile. She loved to laugh and had a warm heart for everyone.
She was preceded in death by a son, Paul Clinton Page; her parents, William Dean and Lois Powell McClurkin; and sisters, Brenda Harrington and Mary Celia McClurkin.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Scott Weston and Jennifer Page of Springfield; grandson, Weston Paul Page of Springfield; and nieces, Angela (Jason) Farley and Paula (Daniel) Hannah.

Joy was born in Springfield on June 23, 1957, to the late Wallace Leo and Birdie Ann Brown Love, Sr. She was a graduate of Springfield High School Class of 1975, she attended Martin Methodist College to work towards a music degree, was a member of North Springfield Baptist Church, and was a retired Registration Clerk from North Crest Medical Center. Joy loved dancing, reading, and singing. Her family was dear to her, and she loved spending time with each of them. Whenever she greeted you, it was always with a smile. Joy loved and accepted everyone for who and what they were, and she only wanted the same in return.
Joy is survived by her husband, Bill Scott of Springfield, by her brother and sister-in-law: Wallace and Linda Love of Springfield, by her nieces and nephew: Velvet Carrington, Courtney (Adam) Hulsey, Victoria (Jeff) Kinle, and Corey Love, by her great nieces and nephews: Cooper Hulsey, Parker Kate Hulsey, Britney Carrington, Kendall Kinle, and Baker Graves Kinle, and by her fur baby that she loved so much: Velma Louise.

Jennie was born May 9, 1970 in Springfield. She was a member of Orlinda Baptist Church and was a longtime office manager at Dean Tire and Fuel. She loved being with her family and watching them play sports, especially her nephew. She also enjoyed spending her free time fishing.
She is survived by her daughters, Taylor Gail Abney and Sabrina Frances Abney, both of Orlinda; parents, Bryant and Gail Stark of Orlinda; brothers and sister-in-law, Steve Stark and Matt and Jennifer Stark, all of Orlinda; nephew, Flynt Matthew Stark of Orlinda; and niece, Isabell Briley Stark of Orlinda.

Age 78 of Greenbrier went home to be with the Lord Friday, February 4, 2022 at Saint Thomas Midtown. She was born March 22, 1943 in Greenbrier, TN to James William and Alma Gladys Hester Swift. She worked as a homemaker and mother and was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. She loved the Lord, her church and her family with all of her heart. She enjoyed quilting and was a wonderful cook.

She was born in Greenbrier, TN on September 7, 1927 to the late Adam Dewitt and Bertha Mai Weaver Bowling. She was also preceded in death by her husband John Thomas “Tom” Greer; brothers, James Ray Bowling, Bobby Lloyd Bowling and sister, Shirley Ann Hewell.
She loved her family very much and it was her joy in life to take care of them. She also enjoyed reading, gardening, flowers, doing yard work, reading and work search puzzles.
She was a member of Luton’s Chapel United Methodist Church and a faithful homemaker.
She is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great and great-great nieces and nephews whom she loved very much.

April Doreen O’Donnell,79, of Greenbrier, TN passed away Thursday, February 3rd after a battle with cancer.
Mrs.O’Donnell was born in Chicago, IL on June 30, 1942.
She is survived by her son, Michael O’Donnell, and wife Janice, grandchildren Sarah Rae, Eric, Cory.
She is preceded in death by husband Thomas O’Donnell and daughter Wendy Robinson.
She was a lover of all living things and spent her time on this Earth spreading happiness and making people smile. Anyone who knew her knows her family was the center of her being.

Obituary for Shanon Elaine Allen
Shanon Elaine Allen, of Madison, TN passed away Wednesday, February 2, 2022 at Hendersonville Medical Center at the age of 58. She was born in El Paso, TX on September 27, 1964 to Charles J. Bradley and Sharon E. Hayes Bradley while her father was serving in the United States Army stationed at Ft. Bliss. She graduated from Hendersonville High School and earned her degree in Cosmetology. She worked for 20 years as a cosmetologist in the White House area and more recently in Hermitage.
She is survived by her father – Charles J. (Donna) Bradley of Springfield; mother – Sharon E. Petty of Hendersonville; children – Jeremy (Amanda) Oakley of Greenbrier, Chase Allen of Goodlettsville, Shayna Allen of Goodlettsville; grandchildren – Tyler Oakley and Blake Oakley of Greenbrier.
Shanon loved her family and grandsons deeply and spending time with them was what she cherished most. She always loved being outside and would never give up a chance to be at the beach, even though that was not often enough.
Shanon would want to thank and give love to her friends, new and old and her family who were with her and stood by her side all along her journey in this life. She will be so sadly missed, but we all are comforted knowing she is reunited with her loved ones that have gone before.

Charles Dallas Heatherly, age 85, of Springfield, passed away Wednesday, February 2, 2022 at NorthCrest Medical Center. Graveside services will be held Monday, February 7, 2022 at 11am in the Springfield Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Heatherly was born September 24, 1936 in Springfield to the late Clyde and Callie Powell Heatherly. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, worked as a farmer all his life, and was a member of the Barren Plains Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents Mr. Heatherly is preceded in death by his son, Charles E. Heatherly and his daughter, Barbara Kinnaird.

Helen Eley Head, age 86, of Coopertown, passed away Wednesday, February 2, 2022 at NHC Healthcare.
Funeral services were held Sunday, February 6, 2022 at 2pm in the chapel of the Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Springfield with Bro. Marvin Crouch and Bro. Kenneth Wayne Head officiating. Burial followed in the Springfield Memorial Gardens with Jeffrey Head, Elliott Eley, Evan Eley, Randy Head, Brandon Head, and Mark Head serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were Tim Head and Bruce Head.
Visitation with the family was held at the funeral home on Sunday from 11am until the hour of service at 2pm.
Mrs. Head was born February 3, 1935 in Robertson County to the late Conway and Annie Catherine Winters Eley. She retired from Regions Bank and was a long-time member of the Coopertown Church of Christ.
In addition to her parents Mrs. Head is preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Mac Head, and her brother, Harold Eley.
Mrs. Head is survived by her son, Jeffrey Head; daughter, Jerri Ann Head; brothers, Connie Eley and Donnie (Virginia) Eley; and grandson, Mark Head.

age 80 of White House went home to be with the Lord Monday, January 31, 2022 at his daughter’s home. He was born July 14, 1941 in Nashville, TN to Arden Andrew & Mary Elizabeth Carr Sanders. He was a 1960 graduate of Goodlettsville High School. He worked for Marshall & Bruce in the Printing and Book Binding Business until his retirement. Bob proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. He loved Southern Gospel Music and had been a member of the Good News Quartet and sang with New Jerusalem. He was a member of Temple Baptist Church and had attended Erin Church of the Nazarene, while living in Erin, TN. He played baseball as a child, played church volleyball, coached the church men’s league, umpired at Moss Wright Park and Beech High City Leagues and umpired the fast pitch girl’s leagues. He was also an avid bowler and enjoyed playing golf.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Kenneth Arden Sanders; sister, Sandra Lorene Jenkins. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Ann Sanders, White House, TN; daughters, Dana (Jason) Dorris, White House, TN, Ginger (Perry) Morris, Cottontown, TN and Leigh Ann Grey, Jacksonville, FL; 7 grandchildren, Karleigh, Olivia, Leo, Hannah, Rachel, Lindsey and Emmie; 5 great-grandchildren, Adelide, Thomas, Remington, Everleigh and Joleigh.

Michael Ricky Babb, son of Eddie Mae Babb and the late Charles Babb was born September 5, 1953, in Springfield, Tennessee.
Michael professed a hope in Christ at an early age and joined St. James Baptist Church in Cedar Hill, Tennessee.
Michael was educated in the Robertson County School System. He began his love for truck driving as a teenager and drove until his health declined. He loved fishing, watching races, and attending tractor pulls.
He united in Holy Matrimony to Carla Smith-Babb on August 5, 2012.
On January 29, 2022 departed this life.

Loretta loved gardening, driving the tractor on the farm, and being with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her mother: Mary King Vaughn.

Lewis Dean “Mr. Dean” Wallace, Sr., 83, of Cedar Hill, passed away on Sunday January 30, 2022, at his home.
Funeral services were conducted Wednesday February 2nd at 2:00 p.m. in the Oakhurst Chapel of the Robertson County Funeral Home. Interment followed in the Bellwood Cemetery in Adams with Ryan Caruthers, Justin Head, Eric Caruthers, K.C. Demers, Lewis Dean Wallace III, and Kolby Tyler Dubowsky serving as pallbearers. The family received friends on Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
Mr. Wallace was born June 13, 1938, in Dover, TN to the late Basil and Evelyn Lewis Wallace. He married his high school sweetheart, Margaret Shadowens, in February of 1957 and this year would be their 65th wedding anniversary. He attended Lighthouse Baptist Church in Springfield for many years. Mr. Wallace, along with his wife, owned and operated Dean Food Land, Dean Country Meat’s, and many other businesses in Nashville for 35 years. Working was his hobby, and he always enjoyed the grocery business and being with his employees and customers. Mr. Wallace owned the Lazy D Ranch in Cedar Hill. Not only did he enjoy farming the land, he and Ms. Margaret raised their family on their ranch and have lived there for over 50 years. Family was his world, and he always enjoyed any opportunity for a family gathering with his children, grandchildren, siblings, and anyone that wanted to join in with them. The highlight of any given day for Mr. Wallace, was sitting in his sunroom and looking at all of God’s creation that he enjoyed so much. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter: Janet Lynn Wallace, and by his sister: Sue Moore.

He loved his family, friends, grandkids, and most especially he loved his precious wife. Mr. Balthrop was a member of Good Springs Free Will Baptist Church.

Elizabeth Ann Hyde Jones was born October 29, 1955, to the union of the late David Hyde Jr. and Maxine Darden in Robertson County, Tennessee. She departed this life on January 28, 2022.
She accepted Christ as her personal Savior at an early age and joined the Church of God Sanctified under the leadership of Elder Boyd E. Kinzer and later Elder William D. Birdsong. Elizabeth served diligently in Sanctuary Choir. She dearly loved the Lord and working in the church.
She attended the Robertson County Public School System and graduated with the Class of 1974.
On February 9, 1980, Elizabeth was united in Holy Matrimony to Edward Lee Jones. She was a very devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
Elizabeth was affectionately known as “Boogie” to all her family and friends. She had a very outgoing personality, loved to talk and never met a stranger. She was always willing to do whatever she could to help anyone in need. Boogie would often help someone, and no one would ever know she had helped them. It gave her great joy to bless others.
She was employed by Kroger for thirty-three years as a cashier. Boogie was dearly loved by all her customers while working there. In addition to Kroger, she was also employed by the Robertson County School System for three years.
Boogie was the backbone of her large extended family and made sure everyone got together for reunions and special occasions. She also loved cooking, dancing and singing.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by four sisters: Patricia Shannon, Mattie Hyde, Penny Shannon and Margaret Shannon.
Elizabeth leaves to cherish her memories; husband: Edward L. “Patrol Deputy Savanna Puckett is a great loss to all of us here at the Sheriff’s Office. We will grieve her death today, tomorrow, and many days to come. Savanna started her career at the Sheriff’s Office as a Corrections Officer in December of 2017 at the age of 18 and was promoted to Booking Officer in the Detention Facility in November of 2018.
“Savanna had aspirations of advancing her career to the Patrol Division and made that dream a reality when she was promoted to Patrol Deputy in May 2020, and officially graduated from Walter State Law Enforcement Academy in September 2020.
“In the 4 years that Savanna was with the Sheriff’s Office, she touched the lives of everyone. Savanna was the one who always showed up early to her shift with a smile on her face. She was hardworking and cared deeply for each and every person here. She was a mother hen to us all and frequently cooked meals and baked goodies for her shift. She was tough, courageous, kind, compassionate, and had an infectious personality that will always be remembered.”

Mrs. Parks was born July 5, 1944, in Springfield to the late John Edward and Daisy Crow Woodard. She was a graduate of Greenbrier High School, was a homemaker, and was a member of Flewellyn Baptist Church. She enjoyed singing gospel music, working crossword puzzles, and along with her husband she enjoyed gardening, and feeding the birds and squirrels. Her family was her life that she so enjoyed being with, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. The highlight of her day was sitting with her husband, Billy, on the back porch enjoying the sunshine and all of God’s creation.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son: Troy Parks, by her brothers: Burton and David Woodard, and by her sisters: Jeannie Copley, Ruth McArthur, and Rose Meadows. Margie Keith Simmons, 92, of Greenbrier, passed from this life on Friday January 28, 2022, at The Arbors at Springfield Heights.
Funeral services were conducted Monday January 31, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. in the Oakhurst Chapel of the Robertson County Funeral Home with Tim Harris officiating. Interment followed in the Owens Chapel Cemetery with Kris Simmons, Graydon T. Simmons, Jr., Tim Simmons, Keith Simmons, Trudy Simmons, Kevin Simmons, and Nick Simmons serving as pallbearers. The family received friends on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
Mrs. Simmons was born November 13, 1929, in Cross Plains. She was a graduate of East Robertson High School, where she was a star Basketball player and graduated with honors. She was a homemaker and a member of First Presbyterian Church in El Dorado, AR. While living in El Dorado, she did volunteer work in her community. Mrs. Simmons was an avid golfer and she made stained glass crafts. She was a wonderful daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, and friend to all that knew her. Mrs. Simmons loved spending time with her family and enjoying life with the many years that God blessed her with. She was preceded in death by her father: L.O. Keith, by her mother: Goldie West Fuqua, by her husband: Graydon Thomas “Jake” Simmons, Sr., by her brothers: Biddie, Maxie, and Don Keith, and by her great great grandchild: Mason Shoup.

Teresa enjoyed gardening and being at home. She loved Christmas time and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren that she loved so much. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers: David and Timmy Elmore.

Roger was born April 7, 1952 in Springfield to the late Eddie Lawrence and Annie Ethel Woodard Hulsey. He was a member of North Springfield Baptist Church and was a retired truck driver, having last driven for Southern Growers. He also enjoyed raising a vegetable garden and he loved football, especially the Tennessee Volunteers and the Tennessee Titans.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Kenneth, Jimmy, and William Hulsey, and sisters, Beatrice Spain, Hilda Auggia, Charlene Farmer, Brenda Jones, Jean Parker, and Ruby DiDonato.

He retired after 37 years of service to the Teamster (United) as a heavy equipment operator. Mr. Tate was known to his friends and family as “a prayer warrior” and a devoted Christian. He was a member of Christ Worship Center. He enjoyed football and NASCAR, especially the LA Rams and Jeff Gordon. He enjoyed mowing his grass with his zero turn mower and he loved eating fried okra.

Alford Hawkins Morris, age 82, of Springfield, passed away Saturday, January 29, 2022 at his home.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, February 1, 2022 at 2pm in the chapel of the Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Springfield with Brother Randy Hester officiating. Burial followed in the Hopewell Baptist Church Cemetery with his grandsons serving as pallbearers.

Mr. Morris was born May 24, 1939 in Robertson County to the late J.C. and Cecil Johnson Morris. He was a cowboy, a logger, a construction worker, a farmer, and whatever he needed to be at the time. He was the roughest, toughest man you would meet, but the softest, sweetest person you could ever know, even playing Santa at times. He was “Papaw” to his favorites, “Daddy” to his next, and “Uncle Alford” or “Mr. Alford” to most. He always seemed to be happy, laughing and smiling every time you saw him and will truly be missed by everyone who knew him.
In addition to his parents Mr. Morris is preceded in death by his daughters, Beverly Jane Morris and Tammy Annette Morris, his brother, James Wayne Morris, his sister, Faye Hall, his daughter-in-law, Tonya Morris, and his son-in-law, Paul Roark.

Shelia Ann Dowlen was born February 20, 1966, in Springfield, Tennessee to the late John Robert Dowlen and Mary Catherine Smith Dowlen. She departed this life on January 20, 2022. Shelia attended Robertson County Public Schools.
She was a loving mother and friend. She had a great love for cooking, grilling, art, music and dancing and a much greater love for her family. Shelia was loved by everyone who knew her.
She professed a hope in Christ at a young age and became a member of New Jerusalem Temple Pentecostal Church, later changing her membership to Mount Herman Community Church.

She lived a life fully committed to God and her family. Grace was never in short supply in her presence. She loved her home full of family, love and laughter. She will be deeply missed and forever loved. Mrs. Suratt was a member of Clarksville Highway Church of Christ.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Bill Suratt; and son, Steven Suratt.

Gone way too soon, but GOD had a greater plan for our loved one. Our beloved Willie O’Neal “Spoon” Witherspoon was born May 3, 1951 in Lexington, Tennessee. He was called Home to Eternal Rest on Wednesday, January 26, 2022 at the age of 70. “Spoon” as he was known by many, attended Henderson County Schools.
He worked at Wiley Steel for many years. Upon retirement, he enjoyed being a mechanic and spending time with family.
He was christened in the name of the Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit as a child and accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior. Willie “Spoon” had a love for his Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church Family where he sung in the Male Chorus, was a Trustee, and devoted Sunday School Teacher.
He loved people and never met a stranger. His favorite songs were “The Lord Will Make A Way Somehow” “He’s Done Enough” and “Lord I Know You’ve Been So Good.” Willie “Spoon” will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and the entire community. He touched so many lives and will forever live on in our hearts.

Beth was born in Nashville, TN on April 6, 1959 to the late Jerry Douglas and Peggy Bruce Briggs.
She enjoyed her job as Editor for National Baptist Publishers. She loved reading, painting and listening to music. She also loved her beloved dog, Puck.

Obituary for Rosemary Denton
Age 76 of Cross Plains went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, January 25, 2022 at her home. She was born March 17, 1945 in Franklin, TN to Oliver and Margaret Sweeney Lunn. She worked as the manager of the Little Red Shoe House. Rosemary enjoyed playing bingo and slot machines, going to Casinos and watching ballgames at the ballpark, especially when her grandchildren were playing.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ronald E. Denton, Sr.; 2 sisters, Mildred Dobbs and Jean Mangram; five brothers, James “Bud” Lunn, Tommy Lunn, Robert “Deacon” Lunn, Franklin “Goody” Lunn and William “Boe” Lunn. She is survived by four sons, Marty Denton, Cross Plains, TN, Roger (Mary Evelyn) Denton, White House, TN, Ronald (Shawna) Denton, Jr., Boise, ID and Christopher (Cathey) Denton, Norfolk, VA; daughter, Junie Rolens Hermitage, TN; sister, Alice “Rinki” Stutts, Hermitage, TN; 8 grandchildren, Lacey, Brock, Ashlee, Magan, Raven, Amber, Brittany and Caitlyn; 14 great-grandchildren, Bentley, Jesse,, Kensley “KK”, Blaze, Tristan, Nevaeh, Aiyden, Ryder, Ellie-Mae, Cy, Jax, Freddy, Alex and Laikyn; ; Beloved dog, Buddy
Funeral service was Saturday, January 29, 2022 at 1:30PM in the chapel of Austin & Bell Funeral Home in White House with Bro. Phillip Miller officiating. Interment followed at 3PM in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens in Goodlettsville with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Visitation was Saturday, January 29, 2022 10AM until the hour of the service at the funeral home.

Obituary for Jerry Sircy
Jerry Wayne Sircy, age 71, of Springfield passed away at his home on January 24, 2022.
Mr. Sircy was born July 17, 1950 in Schochoh, Ky to the late Arlis “Buck” and Hazel Helen Mcguire Sircy. He was a retired carpenter and contractor and proudly served in the U.S. Army, receiving a Purple Heart during the Vietnam War. He enjoyed watching boxing, Nascar, and the Kentucky Wildcats basketball team. He also enjoyed camping, spending time with his family and especially spending time with his grandchildren. Mr. Sircy was a member of the Adairville Methodist Church, the American Legion #45, the DAV Springfield Chapter #21 and the Sons of Confederate Veterans.
In addition to his parents Mr. Sircy is preceded in death by his brothers, Howard Sircy and James Sircy, his sisters, Ann Sircy, Anna Gunderson, and Barbara Jean Burchett.
Mr. Sircy is survived by his wife of 37 years, Joy Pinson Lassiter Sircy; sons and daughters-in-law, Matt and Kristie Lassiter of Springfield, Tim and Laurie Lassiter of Cross Plains, and Ryan Weston Sircy; daughter and son-in-law, Allison and Michael Morton of Bowling Green, KY; grandchildren, Taylor, Millie, Sydney, and Ava Lassiter, and Logan (Autumn) Dean; great-grandchild, Tenley Dean; brother, and sisters-in-law, David and Shirley Sircy of Springfield and Faye Sircy Bagwell of Springfield; sisters and brothers-in-law, Becky and Fred Middleton of Springfield, Linda and Johnny Cauley of Greenbrier, Doris Dunlap of Adairville, KY; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were Sunday, January 30, 2022 at 2pm in the chapel of the Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Springfield with Chaplain Ron Hartley officiating. The family requested all visitors wear masks.
Burial followed in the Springfield Memorial Gardens with Brad Cauley, Johnny Cauley, Michael Morton, Tracy Gunderson, Garrett Gunderson, Guy Gunderson, Jason Middleton and Michael Sircy serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were Jeff Nelson, Fred Middleton, Bo Dunlap, Cliff Gainous, and the members of the DAV Chapter #21.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made the DAV Chapter #21. Any donations may be sent in c/o Austin & Bell.

Obituary for Judy Nadine Leslie
Age 70 of Springfield passed away Monday, January 24, 2022 at Centennial Medical Center. She was born June 29, 1951 in Ozark, AL to James & Mildred Windham McLendon. She worked in Regulatory for Sarah Cannon Cancer Research. She enjoyed decorating, gardening, cooking and was a very creative lady. She was a member of Post Oak Baptist Church in Ozark, AL. She is preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her son, Christopher Allen Leslie, Waterloo, Iowa; brother, James Steven McLendon, Flint, MI; sister, Shirley Wilkinson, Ozark, AL; her beloved pomeranian dog, Harlee.
Funeral service was held Thursday, January 27, 2022 at 1pm in the chapel of Austin & Bell Funeral Home in White House with Bro. Bill Petty officiating. Interment followed in White House Memorial Gardens with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Visitation was Thursday, January 27, 2022 10am until 1pm at the funeral home.
