Central Michigan University is a great school , they have good professors ,staff and students. The professors are really patient with students and really understand, Students are friendly and also have good manners. The school has great sports teams and facilities, it also has well structured housing facilities for students. Central Michigan University is like a hub of adventure with a spirited community, diverse courses, and a beautiful campus. Plus, the Chippewas' energy is contagious. Adventure awaits at CMU with its lively atmosphere, academic variety, and Chippewa spirit , CMU's got some cool majors! Business, Education, Health Sciences, and of course, the Sciences . CMU also offers unique programs like Fermentation Science, Meteorology, and Museum Studies. They're big on hands-on learning, diversity, and have top-notch research facilities. Plus, their focus on sustainability . Great community vibe, cutting-edge tech, and they're eco-conscious. It has a nice and quiet atmosphere to

Central Michigan University is a place where you get exactly what you put in. The name itself won't get you far on its own, so the value comes in your ability to engage with opportunities and people as they come. This is actually easier to do here than other schools: the classes and university make-up is smaller compared to other universities, so being able to connect with faculty and impactful opportunities is actually attainable!
Post-Covid, I think there is a lot of work to be done to revitalize campus (student life and engagement, university support and connection, events and opportunities). The CMU that former graduates talk about is not the CMU that exists today, so when looking for reviews, keep timeline in mind. It is difficult, but there is already some push in the right direction.
Though the university has some strong supports for underrepresented students, the diversity at CMU is lacking. Housing seems to be in a transitional phase, but off campus is extremely affordable.

I have overall had a great experience at CMU! All of the staff members make sure that you feel welcomed and create a great community within your halls. I am very close to those in my hall, and enjoy hanging out with them. Some of the professors here are harder to understand because of their thick accents, especially in the STEM related fields, but I feel that you will find this at any university. The party scene at Central is great if that is what you are looking for. However, I feel that Central has more to offer than just that. I was very drawn to Central because of its small town feel. For being a D1 university, it's small knit communities that it makes through living-learning communities and smaller size classes are impressive, making collaboration and connections between peers and professors very easy. You will not just be a number in your classes, and people will want to get to know you! The campus is also very easy to learn, and can be walked from front to back in 10-15 minutes.
